Who We Are
The Inclusive Research Centre Aotearoa works at the intersection of research, practice, and community.
We believe that knowledge is diverse, dynamic, and shaped by multiple ways of knowing. Our work is grounded in the understanding that knowledge should not only be generated, but made accessible, relevant, and impactful.
We partner with organisations, practitioners, and communities to design approaches that are:
  • Inclusive and culturally grounded
  • Community-informed and responsive
  • Practical, actionable, and impact-driven
Our work is multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary, focused on fostering continuous learning and innovation to drive meaningful change. Click here to find out more about our work and our team.
Rooted in equity, we are committed to ensuring that all individuals — regardless of background or circumstance — can contribute to and benefit from the knowledge and solutions we create.
Our Work
Research & Consultancy
Supporting organisations to design, evaluate, and strengthen inclusive programmes and systems.
Professional Training
Building capability for those working with diverse communities — moving beyond theory into practice.
How We Work
Our approach is grounded in:
Community partnership and co-creation
Cultural responsiveness and relational practice
Equity, inclusion, and systems awareness
We don't just generate knowledge — we support its application.
Why This Work Matters
When systems are not designed with communities in mind, the consequences are real, measurable — and costly:
  • Inequitable outcomes
  • Disengagement from services
  • Erosion of community trust
  • Programmes that don't land
  • Wasted time, funding, and missed opportunities for real impact
We exist to shift this.
